How to report a fake account pretending to be you
What to collect, where to report and what to tell your contacts.
Collect the evidence
Screenshot the profile, its username and link, and any messages it sent. Note the date.
Report it from your genuine account
Most platforms have an impersonation report option. Reporting from the real account usually carries more weight.
Warn your contacts
Post from your real account that a fake exists and that you will never ask for money in messages.
Follow up
If the platform does not act, open an impersonation case in Lookup so we can help escalate.
